چکیده

The fundamental characteristics of liquid electrode plasma (LEP), a pulsed source for optical emission spectrometry, were investigated. Two distinct phases observed during the process generation, namely bubble generation and active discharge. ionization efficiency LEP, with Mg as representative analyte, was gauged from ratio II 279.553 nm to I 285.213 found increase about 5% 20% in close-to-linear fashion discharge voltage 800 V 1200 V. II/Mg LEP 2.5 3 orders magnitude less than that typically offered by an inductively coupled (ICP) but comparable other solution-based glow discharges. It off-time interval more 150 ms between successive pulses required obtain stable pulse-to-pulse current. Temporally resolved emissions 279.6 nm, 285.2 Fe 373.5 OH band head at 306 Hα line 656.3 showed background species (OH line) reached their maximum intensities around 0.5 0.7 respect onset pulse whereas 0.9 analyte (Mg lines). electron density present work range 5.7 × 1015 cm−3 8.2 cm−3, which similar those analytical ICP. temporal averaged rotational temperature 3300 K, values ICP By contrast, temporally excitation 8900 even higher roughly triple obtained techniques based on samples.

Marine Sediment Analysis Using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry

Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry was applied to the determination of trace impurities in tantalum powder. The matrix effects of tantalum in the determination of trace level impurities such as Cr, Fe, Nb, Ni, and Ti were studied by measuring the intensities of each trace element in solution at various concentrations of tantalum. As the concentration of the interfering ele...
